Anaesthetic Technicians are on the NZ government’s Tier 1 Green List which provides a fast-track pathway to residency for eligible applicants.

If you hold a relevant overseas qualification in anaesthetic technology or equivalent and relevant experience, you can apply for registration as an internationally qualified Anaesthetic Technician. What assistance does Working In offer?

How do Anaesthetic Technician’s get registration?

Practitioners who hold a United Kingdom-issued qualification in anaesthetic technology and:

  • have 3680 hours or more (2 years fulltime equivalent) post-qualification relevant specialised anaesthetic technology experience, and
  • are registered and in good standing with HCPC

will be eligible for registration but may need to complete a period of supervised practice.

All other overseas qualifications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Applications will take up to 6 weeks to process once all required documentation is received and the registration fee is paid.

When can I expect to arrive in New Zealand?

We recommend allowing approx 6 months for the entire process of registration, job search, and visa. Once you engage with us, we can offer more precise timeframes tailored to your specific circumstances and current stage in the process.

Should you choose to use our visa services, this will be quoted on an individual basis subject to type of visa and the number of people in your application.

What visa should I apply for?

There are several visa categories available for New Zealand, depending on your goals and circumstances. Straight to Residency is available to eligible physiotherapists should you be looking for a permanent move otherwise there temporary options to suit. Our team will discuss this with you.
