One of the most rewarding parts of our work is seeing the impact we have on people’s lives. Last week, our health team Robyn and Jane had the pleasure of visiting Waikato Hospital to catch up with two of our recently placed nurses, who are already settling into their new roles. We love these visits because they allow us to personally welcome healthcare professionals to New Zealand and hear firsthand about their experiences adjusting to life here.
Our first stop was to catch up with Stephanie, a theatre nurse who moved from the UK to Hamilton just five weeks ago. Stephanie joined the team at Health NZ Waikato, and it was wonderful to hear that she’s already settling into her role. While Stephanie is still getting used to her new routine, she’s also making the most of her time outside of work by exploring the stunning Waikato region.
“New Zealand is such a beautiful country,” she shared with us. As we chatted, it was clear that the natural beauty of the area and the warm welcome she’s received have made the transition easier for her. Her excitement for both her job and her new home is contagious, and it’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.
Next, we met with Remya, another talented theatre nurse who moved to Hamilton from the UK five months ago. Since arriving on an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), Remya has had her Straight to Residence (STR) visa approved, and she’s now fully settled into New Zealand life.
She told us, “The climate, the people, the nature—everything is wonderful here.” It was great to hear how happy Remya is, not only with her role at Waikato Hospital but also with her new life in New Zealand.
Why we love visiting our candidates
As a team, we make it a priority to get out and about, visiting healthcare professionals who have made the move to New Zealand with us. It’s one thing to help with the logistics of moving, but it’s entirely another to see how well they’re settling into their new roles and lives.
These visits aren’t just about checking in—they’re about making sure our candidates feel supported, welcomed, and valued. We love hearing their stories, learning about their experiences, and being there for them every step of the way. It’s this personal connection that sets us apart and ensures our clients feel at home in their new country.
We’re committed to not only helping healthcare professionals find their perfect roles but also making their transition to New Zealand as smooth as possible. Whether it’s offering advice on settling in, connecting them with other new arrivals, or simply stopping by to say hello, we take pride in supporting our clients long after they’ve landed.
As New Zealand continues to welcome highly skilled healthcare workers from around the globe, we look forward to placing many more professionals in roles across the country. If you’re considering a move or have recently made the jump, our team is here to help you at every stage of your journey. We can’t wait to meet you, either virtually or in person, and help make your transition as smooth as possible.
